48th Annual Apollo Awards- Fresh displays, fresh ideas and fresh energy ... this year's Apollo Award nominees are experts at drawing on their experience to bring new excitement and the occasional wow factor to their showrooms. Many remodeled, some added new lines and, for a few, it was a matter of creatively responding to challenges. In all cases, they consistently delivered more than their customers ever imagined.
Create holiday success- We turn Fruehauf's Patio & Garden Center in Boulder, Colo., into a Winter Wonderland at Christmas time. We have a two-acre facility so there is a lot of room for decorating. We light up our center with outdoor lights and lawn decor so customers can see us if they drive by at night. Inside, we set up animated displays (including moving reindeer, a fishing polar bear, a raccoon roasting marshmallows and more) plus 175 theme-decorated trees. We have been successful with our Christmas display for more than 25 years. It brings in many customers at a time of year when people aren't necessarily thinking about outdoor living.
